6 - YOU CAN EAT MORE, if you train smart: How To Volume Hula Hoop ( 26:32 )
Previously, I mentioned metabolically active tissues. If you have a lot, you can eat more and still stay lean. If you don't, you need to be more careful about your food intake. So, how do you get more metabolically active tissue?
You can hoop and use sets for volume! This is great news, as many people already put effort and time into staying active. By not just moving randomly but by stimulating physiological adaptations with sets, you can increase your metabolically active tissue!
If you've been hooping for a long time without getting leaner, it might be because you missed out on the volume. How we move matters.
Strength & Conditioning, and Exercise Science are on our side. If we apply what we learn from research and scientific studies, we can build muscle and burn fat.
Many people message me daily. My inbox is filled with self-hate, criticism, judgment, excuses, hopelessness, complaints, problems, problem body parts, and problem hula hoop moves. If anyone wants to volunteer to help with my daily emails, it would be a brilliant position. A few days of reading these emails and any healthy person would want to jump off a cliff. It's all doom and hopelessness, and fat everywhere.
I see two reasons for this drama:
🔴1. People starve themselves, leading to the wasting away of their muscles and metabolically active tissues. To ensure a complete decline, they overtrain with low-intensity exercises until they get repetitive strain injuries—runners with their knees, yoga enthusiasts with yoga butt tendonitis, Zumba fans with knee problems. Humans love to learn the hard way: go hard or go home 💪
🔵2. People believe online fairy tales delivered by paid actors, who are actually fitness models. These models learn scripts written by marketing professionals, promising that it will be easy and quick. People think they can look like fitness models with zero effort and sacrifices in a few days. When it doesn’t work for them, they feel hopeless and blame their genetics, stress, or having babies... After trying many plans, their endocrine system becomes damaged, acting like the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant...
🌈If you:
- Eat healthily: feed your body as if you want to build it, not break it!
- Train to build your body, not break it! Use volume sometimes, with variety, like in my conditioning workouts. Don't overuse just one joint or muscle. Keep the volume HOLISTIC. 💗
Love your body! It’s not hopeless. No one is doomed. Don’t get rid of your family, do not quit your job, don't pull all your hair out yet, or starve yourself.
Treat your body with love and respect. Use training protocols because we are luckier than anyone before us in human history. There's never been this much research, science, and information to help us live our best lives. We are blessed and supported. The whole world is there to help us thrive, soar, and experience wellness and victory🏆
Get a little achy, pick a conditioning workout - there are hundreds here! then nourish your deserving beautiful body so it can transform into that beautiful body you always wanted for yourself! You've got all it takes!
Can I invite you to look into just 1 benefit of fat loss??? One very interesting study says epic new information about Leptin: I share the link here! It is pretty wild to read about it - because if you want to burn fat now, it is not just about looks & aesthetic satisfaction ... it helps reduce chronic inflammation if you get rid for the fat and in the future you are less likely to suffer from pain caused by Osteoarthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis... Mind-blowing findings & it motivates me every day to show up for myself with my daily workouts! not just to be shredded now but to live with as little pain later as possible!
To sum up this research article:
White adipose tissue (WAT) is a type of body tissue mainly responsible for creating and storing fat. This tissue also acts like an active organ by releasing many hormones and proteins, called adipokines. One important adipokine is leptin, discovered in 1994. Leptin has many functions, including:
Regulating energy balance: It helps control how much we eat and how much energy we use.
Reproduction: It influences fertility and reproductive health.
Glucose metabolism: It helps regulate blood sugar levels.
Blood cell formation: It plays a role in creating new blood cells.
Immune system interaction: It affects how our immune system works.
Leptin is involved in both the innate (natural) and adaptive (learned) parts of the immune system. It also plays a role in chronic inflammation and diseases affecting the muscles and joints, such as osteoarthritis (OA) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA). This review focuses on the latest research about how leptin influences immune responses and inflammation in OA and RA.
This research on leptin shows it plays a big role in diseases like rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and osteoarthritis (OA). Leptin helps regulate inflammation and cartilage health in joints and other tissues. Leptin is being looked at as a possible treatment target for RA and OA. Researchers are exploring ways to block leptin or its receptors to slow down joint damage.
Happy hooping!
