People gravitate towards hooping because they usually want to target the love handles - fair enough. But if repeatedly someone only waist hoops with a spine that is already compromised: it can lead to overuse injury fairly quickly.
When we are younger: we are less likely to develop these types of injuries but the older we are the more the volume - the more decades we'd spent leaning forward & the more time the weight is pulling us forward: the more spinal tone we lose.
Adult tummy time can help - not if you already shredded your spine irreversibly but if you are curious whether or not you are leaning forward too much & if you experience some pain or discomfort already: your biomechanist or osteopath or chiropractor may advise you to try this:
